Kate Henshaw hails Lagos court, others over judgement on Femi Olaleye

Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has commended the Lagos judge and various organizations that advocated for a fair verdict in the case of Dr. Femi Olaleye.

Before his life imprisonment sentence on Tuesday, October 24, Olaleye was arraigned by the Lagos State government on November 22, 2022, on a two-count charge for defiling a child and sexual assault by penetration.

Henshaw claimed that while in court, Olaleye still tried to bribe and divert the course of justice by sending money to the victim and her money but the money was returned.

While speaking to the pressmen, Henshaw hailed the judge for his fair judgment and others who stood for justice while urging other states to follow this path in order to protect young girls.

She said: "It is a day that I will always remember, it is a day that has been embossed in me that when you find a righteous judge when you find that you are in a dysfunctional society irrespective of bribery and corruption, it shows to me that... Thank you Lagos State Sexual Violence, and all the organisations that helped, Tonia, Pamela. We have a child protection network from Lagos state. It shows that other states need to look at Lagos state, if you really want to protect your women and girls and you want to help the men be better you need to protect young girls and say no, no matter who you are in this society, big small poor rich, you are not beyond the long arms of the law.

"And the judge read his charges for 45 minutes. I will continue to remind people that Femi Olaleye is not a doctor, the Nigerian Medical Association or whichever organisation that was in charge of certifying him to run his mushroom hospital should all look inward.

"I don't care if you are my family member, take note, friend family of the foe, if you do wrong, I Kate Henshaw will be the first to stand against you and that is how it should be.

"Two of his friends were here in the courtroom, they were giving him high-fives when they walked in the court, I'm sure those ones, are also doing it until they get caught, that's all i have to say."
