Abia Govt Vows To Reclaim Illegally Privatized Assets

Abia state Government has expressed readiness to recover all public assets and lands which had been illegally converted to private use by individuals.


The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu stated this at Government House Umuahia while briefing Journalists on the outcome of the state Executive Council Meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti.


Prince Kanu said that the recovery of public assets and lands illegally converted to personal use would be “fully and duly enforced”.


“Only an irresponsible government would watch its assets converted to private use by individuals.


“So, this exercise is ongoing and government is very committed to recovering every other asset that has been illegally converted,” Kanu added.

  Governorship candidates from the Owerri Zone Senatorial District have called on Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to drop his second-term or reelection ambition. The governorship candidates, who made the call, were Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tony Ejiogu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), Kemdi Opara of the Young Progressives Congress (YPC) and Kachi Nwoga of the Action Democratic Party (ADP). In a recent podcast interview with Teju Babyface, the Port-Harcourt-born thespian revealed that he got married secretly and divorced secretly. However, he did not disclose when the marriage and divorce took place.
