GOV IKPEAZU OFFER TO REBUILD AFFECTED ABSU HOSTEL

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, has approved the immediate repairs of the section of Abiola Hostel, Abia State University(ABSU), recently gutted by fire, as well as, financial assistance to the Students officially allocated to the rooms affected by the inferno.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor E. Uche Ikonne, who disclosed this, described the Governor's kind gesture as an uncommon display of magnanimity, love for humanity and development of Education, particularly at this time of the Corona Virus pandemic.
Prof. Ikonne promised to ensure that the approved financial assistance is judiciously used for the repairs and in aid of the affected Students.


He expressed deep appreciation of the University Community for the Paternal show of love, and pledged its continued loyalty to the inspirational and Education-friendly Administration of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.

  It is necessary to put an end to the corruption at Abia State School of Nursing, particularly on the Amachara Campus. Otherwise, the schoo reputation is under threat and her certificates will amount to toilet tissues.  The entrance form is purchased from the Ministry of Health at the cost of ₦10,000 paid to UBA. Some students paid a ransom fee between ₦80,000 and ₦150,000 to the school administrators to secure admission. The results are released two weeks after the exam, and those who 'pass' paid additional ₦15,000 to collect admission letters and ₦245,000 for tuition, hostel, books, and uniforms. But no book was given to the students. The selected students are registered as PTS students.
