Coronavirus: NCDC announces 195 new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, total infections now 314

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced 195 new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, total infections now 3145 -
Lagos leads the pack with 82 cases while Kano state followed with 30 cases, Zamfara state has 19 cases and so on - 

Fifty-three  more people were discharged, bringing the total to 534 recoveries, while the number of fatalities increased to 103 

NCDC made the announcement through their Twitter handlea 12.01am today May 7. Revealing that Fifty-three more persons were discharged, bringing the total from 481 to 534 recoveries, while the number of fatalities increased from 98 to 103.


Also the Oyo state Governor on   Wednesday’s afternoon while giving situation update of the pandemic in the state stated that some are recovering in his State while two absconded,

According to Makinde, the patients possibly may have absconded to their permanent places of residence. The governor, who chairs the State COVID-19 TaskForce, said that the two escapees were among the 33 active cases being managed by the state, saying the development has brought the number of active cases in Oyo state to 31. 


 Nigeria records 17 deaths, 220 new COVID-19 cases, total jumps to 2,388 “Ten cases are self-isolating while 21 cases are being managed in the isolation centres in Oyo state. “One at the University College Hospital, Ibadan and 20 at Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, Ibadan; 19 of these 20 cases at Olodo are asymptomatic while the last person has anosmia – loss of smell,” Makinde added
