The Abia State Government has declared a Covid 19 victim wanted for escaping from isolation center According to information from a reliable source Emmanuel Ononiwu whose photograph appear underneath is   wanted by Abia State Government after he tested positive to COVID-19 and absconded from a holding center in Aba prior to being moved into isolation. He is a generator mechanic, uses a Mercedes V-Boot car, previously used a Mercedes 190 brand and is believed to be from Ikeduru LGA of Imo State but resident in Aba. The Government said it will appreciate any effort that will help apprehende him to secure lives.If seen, please call 0700 2242 362 and do not approach him physically without adequate protection to avoid being infected with COVID-19. The task force on the fight against COVID-19 in Imo on Monday, May 18, declared that the state is now coronavirus free. Before now, the southeast state had seven active cases of the dreaded disease. Briefing journalists in Owerri, chairman of the committee, Professor Maurice Iwu explained that three out of the cases recorded in the state were discharged on Sunday, May 17 following their satisfactory condition. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 338 as confirmed cases of coronavirus for Sunday May 17, 2020. The figures were announced at 11.30pm on the verified twitter handle of the agency. In the announcement, Lagos has the highest number of confirmed cases with 177 followed by Kano with 64 As second highest according to tally presented by NCDC. Most of the states are from the North with few from the South. The total figure now is 5959 with  182 deaths and 1594 recovered from the coronavirus pandemic. Lagos State is considering the full re-opening of the critical sectors of its economy, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu revealed on Sunday. But the move will not be pushed in a hurry. In the coming days, Sanwo-Olu said the state government would be rolling out Register-to-Open initiative as part of the plans that would enable it assess the level of readiness of the players in the identified sectors for supervised operations. The governor spoke at a briefing after the State’s Security Council meeting held at the State House in Marina.
