President Tinubu elected ECOWAS Chairman

The President of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).



He was elected chairman at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, taking place in Guinea-Bissau.


After the election , an elated Tinubu pledged to take democracy seriously, noting that, though tough, it is still the best form of government.

Popular Actor, Nkem Owoh Reportedly Rejects N10 Million Offer To Endorse 'Tinubu

Popular Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, aka Osuọfia has reportedly rejected a N10 Million offer to endorse Bola Tinubu, APC Presidential candidate ahead of the 2023 Presidential election. According to sources, the Veteran Nollywood Actor said N10 Million cannot buy his endorsement as 2023 is critical for the collective good of all citizens and would NEVER be sold. It was learnt that Osuofia was offered the usual 5 million Naira for endorsement of the candidate, but he refused. Even when the offer was doubled on account of his worth, he still refused.  According to him, not everybody is amenable to the persuasiveness of money.

Former Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi, has charged Nigerians to stop selling their votes as the 2023 general elections draw closer, asking them to ensure sanctity and secrecy of the ballots. Sanusi expressed worry that some Nigerian voters are in the habit of displaying their thumb-printed ballot papers as an evidence to trade their votes to politicians. Sanusi spoke virtually during the 4th anniversary lecture of Penpushing Media held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. Speaking on the annual lecture themed, ‘Social Media Regulation: Insecurity and Elections Accountability in Nigeria,’ Sanusi said the recent governorship elections held in Osun and some States came with some improvements, saying, however, that vote buying had been on the increase.
