President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Signs 4 Executive Orders To Curb Multiple Taxation.

⚙️1. Finance Act (Effective Date Variation) Order, 2023, has now deferred the commencement date of the changes contained in the Act from May 23, 2023 to September 1, 2023.


⚙️2. Customs, Excise Tariff (Variation) Amendment Order, 2023.

PBAT shifted the commencement date of the tax changes from March 27, 2023 to August 1, 2023 in line with the National Tax Policy.


⚙️3. Order suspending the 5% Excise Tax on telecommunication services as well as the Excise Duties escalation on locally manufactured products.


⚙️4. The President has ordered the suspension of Import Tax Adjustment levy on certain vehicles.

An official notice from the office of the State Head of Service names the new Permanent Secretaries as follows - 1. Igwe Caroline Unanya 2. Alozie Kelechi Callistus 3. Emelogu, Ikechi Friday 4. Engr. Okpara Sunday Chukwunonye 5. Egwu Michael Chianakwalam 6. Engr. Mba Nkuma Emea 7. Engr. Okoro Thomas Ikenna 8. Dike Fidelis Nwabueze 9. Okere Ijeoma Clara (Mrs) 10. Nwanju Joy Chidinma (Mrs) 11. Ekwueme Franca Ngozi (Mrs) 12. Ubani Iheanyichukwu 13. Nwaka Beatrice Nene (Mrs) A date for the swearing in of the new Permanent Secretaries shall be communicated in due course.

PDP/OVI SECURE 1ST VICTORY AS TRIBUNAL DISMISS 2 CASES AGAINST HIS RE-ELECTION

The Governorship election petition tribunal sitting at umuahia,has today dismissed two Governorship election petitions filled against the re_election of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu as Governor of Abia state by the duo of Barr kelenna ogbonn and his party ADC The judge while delievery the judgment on behalf of the tribunal dismissed the petition for lack of merit, he also started that the petition did not follow the laid down process .Also dismissed was the petition of Action people's Party (APP),both petitioneirs were urging the tribunal to nuliffy the election of Gov okezie Ikpeazu on the basis of unlawful exclusion of their respective Governorship candidates in the march 2019 gubernitorial election .This is a very big victory for the Governor and indeed all abians.having dismissed the two petition ,The tribunal is now left with Dr Alex Otti and Dr Uche ogah petitions  which is adjourned to 27/5/19 for pre trial confrence
