13 New Permanent Secretaries Emerge In Abia State

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the appointment of 13 New Permanent Secretaries in the Abia State Civil Service.

An official notice from the office of the State Head of Service names the new Permanent Secretaries as follows -

1. Igwe Caroline Unanya
2. Alozie Kelechi Callistus
3. Emelogu, Ikechi Friday
4. Engr. Okpara Sunday Chukwunonye
5. Egwu Michael Chianakwalam
6. Engr. Mba Nkuma Emea
7. Engr. Okoro Thomas Ikenna
8. Dike Fidelis Nwabueze
9. Okere Ijeoma Clara (Mrs)
10. Nwanju Joy Chidinma (Mrs)
11. Ekwueme Franca Ngozi (Mrs)
12. Ubani Iheanyichukwu
13. Nwaka Beatrice Nene (Mrs)

A date for the swearing in of the new Permanent Secretaries shall be communicated in due course.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has advised the federal government to keep schools shut pending when the covid-19 pandemic was over. ASUU tweeted about this on Thursday. ASUU President, Abiodun Ogunyemi, advised “federal government not to reopen schools until the pandemic is over. The Covid-19 Presidential Task Force had equally maintained that it was not safe to reopen schools.   Governorship candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the last general election in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has refuted the rumour, making the rounds that former head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), is dead. The former Minister of State for Education, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Orusi Kenneth, on Monday October 9th 2023, described the purported death as “handiwork of mischief makers”. Gbagi, disclosed that General Gowon, is alive, hale and hearty and presently in London. Quoting the much respected leader, Gbagi said: "General Gowon, is still much around with us, hale and hearty.
