THE SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE

Is there something called the spirit of excellence? Is there a spirit like that? May be yes you will answer, or maybe no from another person? To another person it might depend on how you look at it, what is a spirit even in the first place?

To be excellent is to be distinct, different and very outstanding from others, for something to be excellent or for Excellency to be attached to something, it means there have been a comparison made with other things similar or very close to the item after which it was discovered that this one really is outstanding and distinct from others.

Can a man be excellent, can a human being be outstanding and be distinct? It means there will have to be another person placed side by side with you, and an assessment is made on who is better, may be smatter and then from that assessment, a deduction is made and then Excellency is attached to you.

It could be someone who does the same thing you do, it could be someone in the same profession with you, it could be someone doing something similar to another thing you have seen somewhere, you know how it is done, you know the procedure, you know how long it takes and the input needed and what the output will be, then when a comparison is made by you, you found out that this one is doing it better

Though the earlier person you know did not do badly, he or she was not failing, he or she was still achieving the needed result, he was getting things done as at when it is needed. The project is not delayed, he is on target and stick to laid down procedure and then eventually achieved the result expected,

But on the other hand for the excellent person, he might be doing the same job, but he has grown to learn and master very wonderful techniques to make his work look different, outstanding and colorful. He is not just after achieving the result, he is not just after meeting target, he achieve the result, meet the target, but he does it wonderfully and with distinct marks that have made you love the work and feel like being part of the system .

What are the things that constituent Excellence.

There are many things that are constituent to excellence. Things you will see and be sure that the person is distinct and outstanding , first, being excellent entails that you will first have meet the target , you have achieved the set mark and the purpose set for you have been accomplished and much is brought by you in the project .

1.      Discretion: an excellent man apart from accomplishing set target, and meeting up with responsibilities given to him, he or she is discreet in all he does. He has mastered the game, he is conversant with the way of doing things that they are not strange to him, being discreet entails knowing what to do per time. An excellent man knows what to do per time, he is not stranded at any point in time, he knows what is expected from him and have also search out the easiest way and techniques to have it done.

2.      Wisdom: An excellent man is wise, he has mastered his game so much that he know how to relate with everybody, he is not interested only in accomplishing the result, he is not carried away by the determination to achieve result and get everybody offended, and he does not achieve result with people being unhappy and feel offended. He knows how to carry everybody along in any project, for me. Excellency will teach you that the people working with you are part of the project and except they are happy .the project have failed and lost it relevance. The excellent man knows how to control himself, he know how to talk, when to talk and when to keep quiet, it is not everything that you respond to.

3.      Fairness :this one distinguishing attribute of excellency which most people do not know,  a lot are so selfish and full of themselves , all they seek and are after is their own interest and nothing less and nothing more, the other party is not important , he is not considered useful or relevant, a man who is not excellent goes about accomplishing project that will more or less favour him , it is all about him, everything revolve around him and when once it is about him , he is hardworking and will do everything possible to see it perfect and very good, there he is very committed when he is the one leading  a project, infant you will see them very effective and outstanding because the project is built around them, a single tree cannot make a forest, and this is what he will fail to understand, therefore when another person is leading a project, he will abstain himself from the work, he is very bias and bring personal hatred for someone to bear in his action, he shows favoritism and does not treat everybody as one. But Excellency will teach you not just to achieve a project when you are leading but to help others when they are also leading.

4.      Judgment: what comes to your mind when you hear about judgment? A lot of people are getting it wrong, so did I, I was getting it wrong until it was revealed to me and I got the understanding of what judgment is. To judge is not to condemn, it is not to sentence someone to death as we always thought, though I do not know the legal point to the definition of judgment but to judge is not to condemn, it entails looking into a matter, it involves an enquiry into a matter to ascertain what actually happened and how it happened and then passed a sentence. You cannot judge without passing a sentence. it is therefore the sentence most people considers to be the judgment, no, the sentence is not the judgment actually, it is the end product od judgment .the sentence from a judgment could either condemn or free somebody from a liability but to judge is  to assess a matter to know it genuinety. On this note I will state that an excellent man judges all things, he does not accept everything the way it came, he makes out time to look into a matter to ascertain on whether or not it is genuine, meaning that he does not just fly with everybody’s news and information, he considers it and evaluate it very well before making a decision.  This is one thing that guide him away from hasty failure and mistake.

5.      Responsible: an excellent man does not shy away from his responsibility, he does not stay away nor run away from a task assigned to him, he accept it no matter how difficult it is, he believe in giving a trial and is never afraid of failure, he will continue to try until he learn the easiest skill to master a thing and get it done with minimum, effort and input. an excellent man accept responsibility for his error, and mistake, he is accountable for it and is not afraid to accept his error and does not try to hang it on another person, he does not accept success and reject criticism coming from failure, no, he accept both success and failure, both constructive and destructive critics without trying to defend himself or reduce the mistake, he learns from both his failure and success.
