OPPOSITION TO MANIFESTATION OF PURPOSE.
Jeremiah 29:10 “For thus saith the LORD, that after
seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good
word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. 29:11 for I know the
thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of
evil, to give you an expected end. 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye
shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 29:13 and ye shall seek
me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 29:14 And I
will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and
I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have
driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I
caused you to be carried away captive”.
This is the
declaration of God’s word and faithful is he who promised it who will also do
it. God can not lie and he will do whatever he said that he will do. There is a
plan which the most high God has for you and I. it is in fellowship that we
will get to identify it and it is in fellowship and through fellowship with him
that we will get to achieve it. Also, the devil cannot deceive a man who knows
and have discovered the plan of God for his life, he will bring so many things
on your way to lead you astray but the right understanding is what you need to
overcome.
Ephesians 3:20 “recorded Now unto him that is able
to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the
power that worketh in us, and in Hebrews 6:17 Wherein God, willing more
abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel,
confirmed it by an oath: Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it
was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have
fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 6:19 Which hope we
have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into
that within the veil; 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even
Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec”. Our God is
awesome and can do all things even things too good and great to comprehend.
Be it as it may,
they are speculation I saw as wrong and inappropriate; that the devil can
hinder the manifestation of Gods plan for us, no, he cannot, some say it is
witches and wizard, some say it is money but all these things are too little to
stop the purpose of God for us. They exist and has effect but cannot hinder it.
“In Lamentations 3:37 it is stated that
who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
3:38 Out of the mouth of the most high proceeded not evil and good? “
In another
place, Apostle Paul clarified it in
Romans 8:33 where he asked “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's
elect? It is God that justifieth. 8:34 who is he that condemneth? It is Christ
that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of
God, who also maketh intercession for us. 8:35 who shall separate us from the
love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36 as it is written, for thy sake we are
killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 8:37 Nay,
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 8:38
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 8:39 nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
What then can
hinder Gods plan for us or are they not? Yes, they are; the following are among
the impediment and hindrances to the manifestation of the plan of God for our
life.
1. Sin;
God is holy and of purer eyes to behold iniquities. We cannot fail with God
behind us. But God frowns at sin and the presence of sin in a man’s life will
make God to withdraw his presence.
Psalms 99:9 stated; “Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for
the LORD our God is holy”. And in Proverbs 14:34 the wisest king recorded that”
Righteousness exalted a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people”. Romans
6:20 put it “for when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from
righteousness. 6:21 what fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now
ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 6:23 for the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
The lord God who
is the originator of purpose is a pure God, he is holy and holiness is what it
takes to partner and fellowship with him, in fellowship he will teach you the
potency of the flesh and the danger inherent in obeying whatever the flesh ask
you to do, God will make you to understand that the only thing the flesh will
offer you is little happiness which last for few minutes and then an anguish
for a life time. And every day and night, the flesh and the spirit of God is in
conflict and contention on whom should be in charge of the man.
Paul in Galatians 5:17 stated “For the flesh
lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are
contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred,
variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 5:21 Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you
before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
It is a pity
that this generation has continued to reduce the power and weight of sin, even
most preachers only mentioned the word sin without going all out to list it out
in all its manifestation. Sin include but not limited to only liars and
fornication, and it carries such weight as to make God to give you space and
stay far from you so that he will not be associated with sin. Someone will ask
if sin matters and has the power to make a man miss purpose. Yes it does, Even
God detest and hate sin.
Isaiah 59:1 said” Behold, the LORD's hand is not
shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins
have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. 59:3 for your hands are
defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies,
your tongue hath muttered perverseness. 59:4 none calleth for justice, nor any
pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive
mischief, and bring forth iniquity.”
.
2. Unbelief and doubt: Matthew 14:31 said” And immediately Jesus
stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little
faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto
them, Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only
do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this
mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this
mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt
in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”
There is so much
incapacities and inabilities with man. He cannot do anything and does not have
the potency to do everything. But the same is not applicable with God. The
outcome of any mission with God involved in it cannot be the same with the
outcome of the same assignment when God was not involved. There is a difference
which is clear and can be easily noticed by all.
Luke 12:29 “And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or
what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. These are all Jesus words,
and yet in Acts 10:17 Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had
seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made
enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate, which made the holy
spirit in Acts 10:20 to say Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with
them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. Paul also in 1 Timothy 2:8
declared I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands,
without wrath and doubting.”
Therefore in
your relationship with God. One thing you will certainly have to remove is
doubt and unbelief, it is a hindrance and has the potency to limit your
physical progress in the journey of life, you are advised to stop that doubt
and start believing in God, for with God nothing is impossible.
3) Wrong choice;” Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace
with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of
bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 12:16 Lest
there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat
sold his birthright. 12:17 for ye know how that afterward, when he would have
inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance,
though he sought it carefully with tears.”
Yes, wrong
choices made either in the area of marriage, academics, or ministry can limit
or hinder the manifestation of Gods plan for you and me .and these are key
areas where you may not be able to correct it after you have far in the journey,
therefore in the journey of life as opportunities comes to you to make choices,
do it graciously and responsibly because these choices no matter how small are
determinant of our destination in life.
4) Wrong foundation: Psalms 11:1 “In the LORD I put my trust, how say ye to my soul, Flee as
a bird to your mountain? 11:2 for, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make
ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright
in heart. 11:3 if the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? 11:6
upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and a horrible
tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup”.
Wrong foundation
might be from choices our parent and caregivers made for us while we were still
small, but God is usually a God of multiple chances. Therefore, whenever you
discovered that your foundation was not right, you have to run to God who
always gives a second chances and he will correct any abnormalities.
