The Federal government has announced new regulations for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other internet platforms operating in Nigeria. Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) released the regulations five months after a six-month ban on Twitter. A draft copy of the Code of Practice mandates internet platforms to act promptly in obeying “court order directing a Platform to provide any information under its domain or any assistance to any authorised government agency for the purpose of carrying out an investigation, combating cybercrime, or prosecuting an offence.” NITDA said the objective of the ‘new code’ is to “set out best practices that will make the digital ecosystem safer for Nigerians and non-Nigerians in Nigeria.” The government agency said the guidelines were “developed in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), as well as input from Interactive Computer Service Platforms such as

  The World Bank has predicted that more people in Nigeria and its Sub-Saharan neighbours are expected to fall into extreme poverty. According to a report obtained via a World Bank newsletter on Friday, titled, “Global Economic Prospects,” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and its effect on the commodity market, supply chains, inflation, and financial conditions have intensified the slowdown in economic growth. The Washington-based bank further explained that the possibility of high global inflation could eventually result in tightened monetary policy in advanced countries which might lead to financial stress on emerging markets and developing economies. The report also quoted the World Bank President, David Malpass, as saying that the world was facing the deepest global recession since World War II. My Deputy Was Too Ambitious And Did Not Consult Me -- Abia Govornor

-Says his Deputy Udo Oko Chukwu never informed him of his Governorship ambition- Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Victor has opened up over the 2017 invasion of the home of the Leader of the Indeginous People of Biafra(IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu . Recall that the Nigerian Military had sometime in September 2017 invaded the Afaraukwu home of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Allegedly killed many and properties destroyed. The Governor who spoke in an Exclusive interview with the " Nigeria now with Dickson Iroegbu" in Abuja, said the army commander at that time, came to his office to inform him that he had orders to arrest Nnamdi Kanu . APC Screening Panel Screen Out Top Aspirant

 BREAKING: APC Screening Committee Disqualifies 10 Presidential Aspirants   The All Progressives Congress’ presidential committee has disqualified 10 aspirants from its primaries scheduled for next week. Chairman of the Committee, John Oyegun, revealed this on Friday. According to Mr Oyegun, only 13 out of the 23 aspirants screened were cleared by the committee. He added that only youthful aspirants made the list of cleared aspirants. However when asked about the identity of the disqualified aspirants, Mr Oyegun declined to disclose the names. The committee held the screening exercise between Monday and Tuesday this week. Cleared aspirants are expected to contest the presidential primary at a scheduled special convention in Abuja between June 6 and 8.   More to follow . . .

The youth of the good people of Ukwa Nkporo has endorsed the candidature and aspiration of Hon. Robinson Otuwe .  The endorsement came on Sunday 29th May 2022 when the executive of the youth and the members paid him a courtesy visit at his country home in Okwoko Nkporo.  The Ukwa Nkporo Youth while speaking through their leaders unanimously adopted  Hon.
